Psychodiagnostic Assessment
Accurate diagnosis drives effective treatment. When you arrive for the first session, we take a detailed look at your current symptoms and life factors, including your family relationships, friendships, and work and school experiences. With children and adolescents, we also take the time to gather a detailed developmental history and gather information directly from teachers, with parental permission. All of these facets of life are essential to understanding you. Our intake interviews typically last 60 to 80 minutes

In addition to gathering a history, we select one or more well-validated psychological tests based on your presenting issues. Testing is often the key to detangling complex symptoms that can mimic multiple conditions. Testing allows us to isolate the underlying causes for symptoms and select the correct treatment approach to get you or your child back on the right track.
Psychotherapy is available for children, teens, adults, families, and couples. Sessions typically last 50 minutes.

Our clinicians partner with you and find solutions. We are trained to use a variety of research proven treatment methods, including insight oriented therapy, cognitive-behavioral and supportive approaches to give clients the tools needed to live a more fulfilling life. We work to help you understand yourself better, identify and target counterproductive expectations, and replace self-defeating behavior patterns.

The goal of any evaluation is to develop an accurate diagnosis and an evidence-based, effective plan for getting you or your child back on the road to recovery. After completing evaluations, we sit with our clients and/or their parents and explain our findings and recommendations, including answering any questions you may have and discussing your reactions. With students, this may include making recommendations to schools for classroom accommodations and specialized educational services. We also can integrate care with your primary care physician or psychiatrist if medication is to be considered.

We offer psychodiagnostic evaluations and treatment for many conditions, including the following:
We pledge to provide you with the highest standard of
confidential clinical care and make it as easy as possible.
Children and teens work one-on-one with a therapist who listens and offers strategies for success. We value children as individuals with unique abilities, temperaments, and dreams. Therapy with children and teens involves a combination of therapeutic play activities and traditional talk therapy. Since child problems are often related to family factors, parents often play an important role, attending some sessions. We are committed to providing patient-centered care that recognizes each child’s needs.

Adults also work one-on-one with a therapist in a relaxed, two-way dialogue. Some adult clients are struggling with severe depression, anxiety, unhealthy habits, or relational problems. On the other hand, some clients are symptom-free and want to increase confidence, develop an edge at work or in sports, or pursue self-development in their lives and relationships. Our therapists tailor a flexible, realistic plan with each adult client to improve insight, enhance happiness, and increase life satisfaction.

Couples and family therapies are provided and designed to identify and correct unhealthy family patterns. Couples and families are encouraged to take a fresh look at family-of-origin dynamics, identify and overcome barriers to intimacy , develop healthy problem-solving strategies, and maintain new skills.

Before beginning psychotherapy, clients often complete a psychodiagnostic evaluation to develop an effective treatment plan.
